Support the MetroWest ESL Fund! David Ortíz, affectionately known as "Big Papi," is a baseball legend. He helped the Red Sox end their 86-year World Series drought in 2004 and went on to win two more championships with the team. A feared hitter, he was a ten-time All-Star and earned the World Series MVP award in 2013.
Big Papi started learning English when he was 15 years old in the Dominican Republic. In 2008, he became a United States Citizen at the J.F.K. Library in Boston, and in 2022 Big Papi was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame.
Framingham Adult ESL Plus, supported by the MWESL Fund, is full of people who, like Big Papi, brought their talent to this country because they believe in the American dream. They have the ability to do great things, and we can help them get there, but we need your support.
