The Foundation for MetroWest is the fiscal agent for the MetroWest ESL Fund. This fund was created in 1999 by area business leaders to address the overwhelming demand for English classes for residents of the Commonwealth at Framingham Adult ESL Plus (FAESL+).
Since 1999, we have expanded our program to include remote learning, advance ESL writing classes, citizenship preparation classes, guest/PD speakers, a resource directory for new residents, student field trips, and community involvement activities.
But our story is still being told! Our future goals include:
USA, China, Venezuela, Brazil
"They act like they are my family members, and they act like they are my reliable friends."
"Learning English is... Basic. We cannot grow or grow a business, or do anything if you cannot communicate... I feel as if I'm independent today. I don't need anyone to do anything for me.
"When I came to the United States, it was very challenging... I was not able to understand what people were saying to me the way I do now. Now, I actually work for FAESL+."
"I decided to learn English for my life, for jobs... I am very very happy now... I am love! Before that, I (was) mad, sad, because I (didn't) speak English... Now, you understand me, and I understand you."
